I've been waiting for a week to see this movie, and I'm going with a couple of friends this afternoon to celebrate the fact that I just turned in my latest book to my editor (yay!) and can play hookey with a clear conscience!
I'm a big Drew Barrymore fan, and I think Hugh Grant is the cuteness. I really liked him and Liz Hurley together, but, ya know, if you can't figure out how to get sex without paying for it (being Hugh Grant, yet!), you deserve to lose a gal like Liz.
My favorite Hugh Grant movie is Sense & Sensibility. I just adore him in that movie.
What about you? Fave Hugh Grant flick?

Part of me really wants this movie to come to the dollar theatre really soon...so I can see it at a theatre I can afford! Maybe when that ol' paycheck comes I'll splurge and go to a real theatre!
I LOVED S&S, Colleen! But I'm not sure about this movie--seems a little cheesy. I dunno. You'll have to report back ...

Hugh is one of those guys that I want to dislike, after the whole hooker thing (I mean, couldn't he at least get an expensive call girl? A street hooker is just gross!), but...I adore him. I can't help myself. He's just always SO likable and endearing in movies, and he comes across much the same in interviews. I LOVE S&S, but I also liked him in Notting Hill (the whole 'oopsie daisy' thing cracks me up every time!), About a Boy, Love Actually. Now that I think about it, I've liked him in pretty much everything he's ever been in.
I adore Hugh too and my favorite was Notting Hill. I've had two friends rush out to see Music & Lyrics. One friend loved it and the other hated it so now I'll need you to break the tie, Colleen!
I thought it was really cute. Very much a romance novel set up, of course, but what can you expect?
Hugh was awesome, delivering the most hilarious lines perfectly deadpan. Just loved it.
The ending was cheesy; I was totally wincing when he sings for her at the end, but other than that--truly--it was a great movie.
If you're a gal (or guy) of the '80s and MTV, you'll get a big kick out of the opening sequence too (and all the '80s references). For that alone, it's worth seeing.
And Drew is adorable, and her older sister is a stitch.
So, yes, other than that cheesy part, it's great. Go for it!
I thought Hugh was great in S&S!
I LOVED him in S&S, and also in Notting Hill. Yummy!
I love love love Drew in everything especially Ever After, but not a huge Hugh fan. I don't see Drew and Hugh having any chemistry,it looks funny only because he will be a washed up 80's singer.[loved the 80's,lol]The movie I liked him most in was Sense & Sensibility and About a Boy.
