Top Ten Quirky Things I’ll Bet You Didn’t Know About RISK

  1. Angela, the heroine, has no maternal instincts when she sets out to adopt Maya, her 3.5 year old orphaned niece;
  2. Angela is a control freak who believes children should be seen and not heard, children should NOT watch TV, and children should not make messes (*snicker!*);
  3. Angela is a neat freak who frequently goes overboard with her orange cleaning spray;
  4. Justus, the hero, loves children and is a devoted uncle to Maya;
  5. Justus teaches Maya to play chess with a Wizard of Oz chess set;
  6. Justus falls in love with Angela at the wedding reception of his brother and her sister;
  7. Justus is seventeen at the time and Angela is twenty-four;
  8. Ten years later, Justus relentlessly pursues Angela;
  9. Justus believes that, “A woman’s body is a complicated instrument… You don’t blame the Stradivarius if the violinist can’t play”; and
  10. Justus is a virtuoso who wins Angela’s heart and sets her skin on fire.

Characters who eat odd stuff.

By odd, I don't mean odd to me because she's from the American South and I'm Chinese, but more like "pregnant and odd" sort of things.

Interesting, May--I try to give my characters FAVORITE foods, but I haven't given them QUIRKY foods. I'll have to think about that...

Okay. I'm head over heels for Justus now. Even his name is hot!

Amy, thanks for commenting!

Eve, I chatted over at NovelTalk last night, and we all agreed Justus is a pretty sexy name. I didn't come up with it, though. It was the name of a GENERAL HOSPITAL character years ago.

Hey Ann,

I like odd sayings, and yeah, odd food choices, too. That's a lot of fun!

Did I mention what a FABULOUS cover Risk has?? CONGRATS!!!!

May, I'm with you on the odd food. Is it Stephanie Plum who loves pb & pickle sandwiches? Not sure if I have that right but every time I read a character's quirky food likes I'm tempted to try them myself.

Little Lamb, I'm the same about music. I know that I get lost in certain tunes when I'm in a certain mood so I love it when a character does the same

Hey, Wendy, I like peanut butter and pickle sandwiches, too--dill pickles. Actually very tasty, if you haven't tried them.
